| Description | The University has created two time capsules to coincide with major building projects on campus. In 1969 a time capsule was assembled and buried as part of the events to celebrate the construction of the new Gannochy Sports Centre. This time capsule was recovered and re-opened in December 2018 during the building works for the new University Sports Centre which replaced the Gannochy building. In November 2021 a new time capsule was assembled to mark the opening of the new Campus Central building. The contents of this time capsule were selected following consultation with University students and staff. The time capsule was sealed and placed below the Campus Central building on 7 March 2022, part of a programme of events for the visit of the Scottish Government Minister for Higher Education and Further Education, Youth Employment and Training, Jamie Hepburn MSP.
