Description | The 21st Commonwealth Games were held in Gold Coast, Australia, from 5-14 April 2018. Team Scotland sent 224 athletes to the Gold Coast and brought home 9 Gold medals, 13 Silver medals and 22 Bronze medals. This final total of 44 medals has made the 2018 Commonwealth Games Scotland's best ever tally at an overseas Games. Although the 2018 Games took place after his death, as Life Vice-President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, Sir Peter Heatly collected material relating to Gold Coast's bid for the 2018 Games. The Gold Coast was announced as the host city on the 11th of November, 2011. |
