| Description | Material relating to the participation of the Scottish Team at the Commwealth Games. The first Games was held in Hamilton, Canada, in 1930 with the original title of the British Empire and Commonwealth Games. The twenty first version of the Games was held in Gold Coast, Australia, in April 2018. Sir Peter Heatly attended every Commonwealth Games between 1950-2014 and, in his capacity as Life Vice-President of the Commonwealth Games Federation, collected material relating to the preparations for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Participating as an athlete, Scotland Team Manager, Chairman of Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland and later Chairman of Commonwealth Games Federation, Sir Peter Heatly has collected a vast range of organisational papers, publications, promotional material, memorabilia and photographs relating to each individual Commonwealth Games. |
