Description'The Historical and Genealogical Memoranda comprised in these Fourteen Volumes are the result of many years' diligent research of the late Mr. Samuel Gregory, of the Lord Mayor's Court Office.

In accordance with a wish expressed by Mr. Gregory, shortly before his decease in 1858, the Collection has been presented to the Clothworkers' Company, of which he was for many years a Member, having been colated and arranged, on behalf of the Executors, by John Faulkner, Jun. January 1861'

'Samuel Gregory of the Lord Mayors Court Office, Son of Samuel Gregory, by Harriet Haddon his wife, was born February 26th, 1802, Admitted an Attorney, June 9th 1826, became a Freeman of the Clothworkers Company, September 11th 1827; Elected on the Livery, October 2nd 1833. Died Tuesday 8th June 1858, unmarried, now buried in Abney Park Cemetery, Monday 14th June 1858.'
