Brief Description | Shawl with small red black circular centre which has a small arabic signature embroidered on one side. Pair of large elongated pines arranged diagonally in each corner and pairs of smaller pines halfway along each side. Meandering tendrils in blue and black all the way around the shawl. Very decorative tail pieces. Notes describe as turkish, hand embroidered all over in silk, 18th century, once owned by Sir John Cadell of Edinburgh, sold for death duties. |
