AdminHistoryMarlborough College is a public boarding school based in Marlborough, Wiltshire. The school was originally founded in 1843 to educate sons of the Church of England clergy. The Marlborough College Natural History Society was founded in 1864 under the patronage of the school's headmaster George Granville Bradley who would later become the Dean of Westminster (1881–1902).
DescriptionVolume 4 of 2 volumes entitled ‘Meteorological’ within the series ‘Botanical Observations taken at Marlborough during the 21 years 1865 to 1885’ by Marlborough College Natural History Society. The volumes contain barometer readings as well as cloud and rainfall measurements from the years 1865 to 1885. Volume 4 (1877-1885) also contains inserts, including a handwritten note on general findings of the two volumes, a summary of the weather for the year 1880 and a booklet showing the accumulated temperature at Marlborough for the year 1885.
