"The letters and portraits in this volume were selected and arranged by Mrs. Isabella James, widow of Thomas Potts James (1803-1882), Bryologist, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States of America".

When addressee is known the name is shown in square brackets. Numbers in the first column are page numbers in the bound book. Missing page numbers indicate that the pages are blank.
