AdminHistory | Elizabeth Pulteney (née Galton) (1739-1820) was the daughter of John Galton and Elizabeth Baskett of Shapwick, Dorset. Her mother had previously married and as a result Elizabeth had many relations in the families of Baskett, Alpine and Kingston. In 1779 she married the physician and botanist Richard Pulteney (1730-1801), son of Samuel Pulteney and Mary Tomlinson. They had no children from their marriage, but adopted Mary Purbeck, Elizabeth's niece, in 1793. |
