Description | A letter from Frederic Marryat, addressed to Thomas Horsfield, concerning "a species of Aphis which is now occasioning the complete destruction of many of the Cane plantations in Antigua", which is dated London, 9th of May and was read at a meeting of the Linnean Society.
Together with the report of a meeting of "a Committee appointed by the Agricultural Society for investigating the ravages of the Fly in some of the Northern Estates in the Parish of St. Andrew" which met on the 31st of December 1832. This report is accompanied by a drawing and description of the Fly.
Also included is a letter from William Kirby to Horsfield suggesting a method of control, dated Barham, 30th of August 1833. |
