AdminHistory | Richard Chambers (1784-1858) was a botanist, entomologist and art collector. Chambers was born in London in 1784 and worked as a School Master. He was elected a Fellow of the Linnean Society in 1822, and was also a member of the Society of Arts. He wrote 'An Introduction to the Study of Botany' (1847) and collected work by British artists. He died on 20 December 1858 in Balderton, Nottinghamshire. |
