The Festival Centre was held at the Drill Hall, London and the programme consisted of: Cabaret All Sorts; Desperate Men (UK); Harvey and the Wallbangers (UK); Justin Case and Peter Wear (UK); Pookiesnackenburger; Roger McGough and Brian Patten; Teatro Titeres La Tartana; The Bouncing Czechs; The Impossible Dreamers; The Joeys; The Kosh; Theatre de la Complicite (UK); Tabule Theatre Company

Workshops were held at the Drill Hall by: Cardiff Laboratory Theatre (UK); Greta Chute Libre (France); I See a Voice; Natsu Nakajima (Japan); Naya Theatre (India); Sistren Theatre Collective (Jamaica); and at the Africa Centre fpr: Tabule Theatre (Sierra Leone)

The LIFT forum was a platform for discussion and debate and consisted of the following:
At the Drill Hall: Cardiff Laboratory Theatre, Julia Pascal forum; Habib Tanvir, Ngugi wa Thiong'o forum; Members of Sistren Theatre Collective, Tabule Theatre and Ngugi wa Thiong'o
The Shakespeare Symposium took place at Riverside Studios and was presented by Collettivo di Parma, Hohn Retalack, Peter Conrad, members of the Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre Shakespeare Symposium.
