The screw-in rubber stopper is stamped 'War Grade', probably indicating that it was made from synthetic rubber, the development of which was accelerated when supplies of natural rubber from the Far East were virtually cut off during the Second World War. The bottle may have been made in the Alloa Glass Work. |
